MLK Food Bank is Feeding East Central Spokane

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, located in East Central Spokane, is dedicated to combating hunger through its Food Bank program. Operating every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, the Food Bank ensures that community members have access to nutritious food. Clients are encouraged to visit once a week and, if driving, should have space in their trunk or flatbed for the pre-boxed food.

In partnership with 2nd Harvest, the center also offers the Senior Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), providing additional monthly food supplies to seniors aged 60 and above who meet income eligibility requirements. For more information on this program, individuals can inquire during their visit or contact the center at (509) 868-0856.

The Food Bank distributes over 600,000 pounds of food annually, reflecting its significant impact on the community. This achievement is made possible by dedicated volunteers who prepare food boxes and host food drives. Those interested in volunteering can find more information on the center’s website.
