Celebrating Black Entrepreneurship, Community, and Economic Empowerment
More than just a marketplace, the Black Business Expo is a gathering place where innovation, culture, and opportunity come together. Each year, local entrepreneurs, professionals, artists, creators, and community organizations connect with hundreds of attendees who are committed to supporting Black-owned businesses and building a stronger, more vibrant local economy.
Founded in honor of Sandy Williams, whose vision helped shape the Carl Maxey Center and its commitment to economic justice, this annual event continues her legacy of creating opportunities, fostering community connections, and empowering future generations of Black business leaders. The Expo reflects the belief that thriving businesses create thriving communities, and that investing in local entrepreneurs is one of the most powerful ways to build lasting economic impact
Throughout the afternoon, attendees will have the opportunity to discover unique products and services, meet local business owners, learn about community resources, and network with professionals from across the region. Whether you’re looking to shop local, make new business connections, explore career opportunities, or simply celebrate the incredible talent and innovation within Spokane’s Black community, the Black Business Expo offers something for everyone.
The Carl Maxey Center has long worked to support Black entrepreneurship through business development programs, networking opportunities, technical assistance, and community partnerships. The Expo serves as a powerful extension of that work by providing a platform for businesses to showcase their products, share their stories, and connect directly with customers and collaborators
The Carl Maxey Center is proud to present the 2026 Sandy Williams Annual Black Business Expo, Spokane’s premier celebration of Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.
