Make this summer one to remember with the Carl Maxey Center Summer Reading Bingo Challenge! Designed to keep young minds active while school is out, this fun reading adventure encourages youth to discover new stories, explore diverse voices, and build a lifelong love of reading.

Complete your bingo card by reading books that match each square. Every completed bingo card earns a prize, and every winning bingo is automatically entered into our Summer Reading Grand Prize Raffle!

The grand prize winner will be announced during the Black Business Expo on Saturday, September 12, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center. Click below for more information about the Black Business Expo.

How it works

  1. Pick up your Summer Reading Bingo card at the Carl Maxey Center 🚗 - or download one online.

  2. 📖 Read books that match the prompts on your bingo card.

  3. Mark off each completed square. ✅

  4. Complete one or more bingos. 🥳

  5. Bring your completed card back to the Carl Maxey Center. 🚘

Every BINGO wins!

🎉 Every completed bingo earns a prize.

🎟 Each completed bingo also earns one entry into our Grand Prize Raffle.

📚 The more bingos you complete, the more raffle entries you’ll receive, and the better your
chances of winning!

🏆 The raffle winner will be drawn live during the Black Business Expo on September 12 at theMartin Luther King Jr. Community Center during the event from 11am-3pm.

  • The summer reading club and Bingo challenge is open to all ages and reading levels. Whether you love graphic novels, chapter books, or young adult fiction, there’s a bingo square waiting for all different types. Families are encouraged to read together and make reading part of their summer routine.

  • Visit the Carl Maxey Center Library! We’ll help you find books that match your bingo card with recommendations featuring Black authors, diverse stories, local writers, and exciting adventures for readers of every age.
