The Carl Maxey Center Remodel – A Bold New Era

The Carl Maxey Center is thrilled to announce the completion of a remarkable renovation project, made possible by the dedicated Extreme Team and the support of the Spokane community. This transformation has turned our historic space into a vibrant hub for connection, learning, and empowerment.

Day 1: Building the Foundation

The remodel kicked off with structural repairs and significant groundwork to prepare the Center for its new purpose. From enhancing the building’s framework to upgrading utilities, these critical steps ensured the space could support its expanded role .

Day 2: Progress on the Library

A key highlight of the remodel is the creation of a welcoming library. Designed as a space for education and cultural reflection, the library also incorporates modern technology to facilitate learning and advocacy. Volunteers and professionals worked tirelessly to install fresh flooring, walls, and design elements .


Day 3: Putting the Final Touches

As the renovation neared completion, the focus shifted to detail work—painting, decorating, and assembling furniture. This day underscored the teamwork and shared vision that brought the Center’s dream to life .

The community came together to celebrate the unveiling of the remodeled Carl Maxey Center. The updated space now boasts:
